Professor Adam Upp, Math Chair of Smarterthan U. had a problem.
Fifty students from around the country had applied for the twenty openings in his upcoming class.
After careful thought, he presented the following challenge to the applicants to determine who would be selected:
-The area code is 427
– The last five digits are evenly divisible by 327
– All ten digits (0 thru 9) are used once each
– The sum of the first five digits is evenly divisible by the sum of the last five digits (or the other way around*).
– The sum of the five digits in odd-numbered positions is evenly divisible by the sum of the digits in even-numbered positions (or the other way around*).
*just to make it a bit tougher.
