Whenever anyone asks why do you care, it sounds to me like that person feels that in general NO one cares. We’re Jews, we are supposed to care about each other. Sometimes, that becomes a burden to the person who doesn’t get that he or she is not alone in this world. Whatever it is, teen years are really hard, and a lot of kids become disillusioned when they see the hypocrisy all around them. It’s hard to trust, and it’s hard to not be able to trust, because I believe that deep down a teenager wants to be able to feel connected even when disillusioned. The good news is, we all eventually grow up, and when we do, we are amazed at how differently we view things from the way we did when we were teens.
