our rebbes also stay til about 1 and then they have others hired for the non-limudei kodesh. recently the afternoon classes have been taken by rebbes who are teaching both, but they try not to send a class thru the same rebbe twice.
I don’t know what the afternoon position pays but I assume they are considered to be drawing two salaries this way.
