TMJ disorder or pain is treated with injection at the site with lidocaine (or a different caine) along with a steroid. Any practitioner can do this, not just a Dentist. Follow up is Not necessary in a lot of cases. If Bruxism is the cause, using Dental blocks, as mentioned above by some, is really outdated nowadays & isn’t recommended anymore.
