Regret, which you appear to have, is part of the teshuva process, as is the effort to avoid the aveira the next time one is confronted with it. But if you try your best and still fall on occasion, don’t beat yourself up. Remember every year we have a Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, and the teshuva is not just for newly created aveiros.
