Avi: A Kohen did the Avodah in the Mikdash, a Levi got to make the music. No matter how wonderful a musician you are, unless you are the son of a Levi, you couldn’t join. Yiddishkeit isn’t America with equal rights. It’s about equal responsibility to do G-d’s will.
