Joseph: Many members of my family have adopted Brisk. They leave a pair of glasses at home and a pair in Shul and they struggle through in the middle. They will rely on the Eruv for glasses if (and only if) their poor vision actually won’t allow them to get to Shul otherwise.
All of this is only if they don’t wear their glasses full time. I have a few relatives who wear the same glasses for everything they do (both distance and reading) and therefore they can wear them on Shabbos.
