The problem is that even if the words are nice & words of praise to Hashem etc… its the songs rock & tune that make a persons attitude change & it affects people badly in their yiddishkeit & their Neshama. different kind of Music have different effects & almost all of it is bad effects
WE CAN ALL AGREE that ALMOST ZERO music is spiritual/ruchnius i.e. a person singing just to thank & praise Hashem (unless its Shabbos zemiros etc…) but now we are talking about singers with SONGS TO ENJOY (so when a person can reach this high Madreiga of Singing praises to Hashem from his heart in gratitude-like the story below-then we can talk)
i know a person that all day everywhere he walked or had a spear moment he always sang “Tov l’hodos L’Hashem….” i saw him singing sometimes & it was with such Simcha that he even sang it in english sometimes cause it came from his heart in thanks & unlimited Hakaras Hatov to Hashem for everything Hashem gives him/us etc….
