As someone who doesn’t eat non-gebrokst, I believe that I have a right to call my minhag silly. It is a minhag which all [should] agree isn’t required by the letter of the law. Even silly minhagim should be respected, though, when it comes to chometz on pesach. We just shouldn’t make more of them, imho, without a very clear reason justifying the burden.
