mewho: I’m totally with you. I used to donate regularly, several times a year. Now I’m on meds that prevent me from donating blood. I also was on a bone marrow replacement donor list. I was called down a couple of times for more bloodwork as I was match. Unfortunately, it was never close enough. It NEVER occured to me to refrain from these activities because of minor discomfort, I have TINY veins, or any other reasons.
I started donating blood when my father needed it and the blood supply in the hospital was so low that they would’nt give transfusions unless the blood was replaced.
That was before Bikur Cholim drives. If anyone who can gives blood, he should be blessed as he is literally giving someone life.
