WE are not deserving of Mashiach now R”L because we are still not ready yet as a nation to do teshuva together.
When we confess and admit to Hashem that we are ready to do teshuva and do it like in the story of Purim then Mashiach will come.
Until then this tragic time of non-stop tragedies will continue R”L. I.e. when a child doesn’t listen to a parent then the parent has no choice but to punish his child. This is out of love and for the child’s benefit. We are Hashems children and we leave him no choice for our good until we wake up and do teshuva.
