I think I’ve figured it out.

Conventional wisdom states that accomplishments and positive traits make people feel good about themselves. But all the fine, accomplished people who still have low self esteem contradict that. And that means that no matter what you do, no matter what kind of person you are, you can still get stuck feeling like a total loser. And that’s scary.
