If the naysayers are accurate that this was 98% Satmar, and half of Satmar only participated, that means 20,000 men from Satmar’s New York region attended (there was additional seating on the floor in addition to the regular stadium seating.) If both Satmar’s attended, that would have made it 40,000 local Satmar men. Since the young boys and elderly men didn’t attend, that’s another, say, 35,000 Satmar Chasidim from the New York area Chasidim. Add the 75,000 Satmar women who didn’t attend (it was men only) and we’re talking about 150,000 Satmar Chasidim just in the New York area. Wow, they’re big! Add Satmar in the rest of the US, Canada, Europe and Israel, and you’re at 300,000. And assuming even in New York there were probably many young Satmar men who couldn’t attend the rally due to being busy, at work, not well, etc., it’s probably even bigger.
