I looked into it and it’s true that Rav Belsky zt’l did disagree with Rav Elyashiv zt’l, Rav Vozner zt’l, Rav Karelitz shlita and many other gedolei poskim (including in the United States). So there is a shitta by a gedolei posek that it’s permissable, albeit Rav Belsky from what I understand held it a b’dieved not a l’chatchila since the risk of avoda zora hair wasn’t completely avoidable even if he held it was more likely non-A”Z. But nevertheless even on that he seems to be a daas yochid among the top tier of gedolei poskim.
