B’H there are many gedolim in klal yisroel. Only a child engages in “my gadol is greater than yours”. An intellectually honest person acknowledges that someone from outside his community can be just as great (or even greater) as the leader of the community he lives in. Asay licha Rav doesnt mean create a score card and whoever earns the highest score, is the bigegst gadol, and the leader to accept on yourself.
