What you both are missing is that Hashem is ????? ???????, what that means is that He has no will. If you would take the time to actually learn the Morah in full, not in snippets, you will see that the Rambam actually says the exact opposite. There is no concept of “Middot” with Hashem. ???? ???? ???? ???? ????. Middos are an extension of a person not the person itself, Hashem has no extensions, and therefore, when we say that we cannot know Hashem, that includes whatever Middos you want to attribute to him.
