Yes, it does. This is due primarily to: (1) Demographics. The USA’s demographics are very different from those of Europe, and this obviously affects all medical statistics; (2) More babies being born alive. In Europe it’s first of all more likely that a baby with serious problems will not be born in the first place, but also in many countries a baby that dies within hours of birth will be counted as stillborn.

Garbage. Cuban medical statistics are just like all their other statistics. The Cuban “medical miracle” is achieved exactly the same way that Mussolini made the trains run on time, and that Hitler achieved his “economic miracle” in the mid-1930s. When you publish the statistics you can write whatever you like. The German economy did not really boom in the mid-’30s, the Italian trains did not really run on time, and Cuban medicine, which before Castro was among the best in the world, is now nothing like that.
