n0m: If a corporation is a legal fiction, then government support of corporations is in fact support of people/citizens (as akuperma pointed out above), as the benefits accrued by corporations are received by the people who the corporation employ (that’s you and me) and people who are shareholders (that’s what you own in your 401k.)
