You misunderstood him. He wasn’t belittling anybody. What he meant was that it has nothing to do with chassidish vs. non chassidish. It’s all about location, location, location.
Regarding the other names you mentioned, there is actually no way of knowing how the tzaddikim from 200+ years ago pronounced anything.
