ADHD – it is not the same stimulation. Stimulants are not doing the same thing to your brain that sensory input is doing. Stimulation from sensory input (or being overloaded by sound/sight/touch) does not have the same affect on your brain as pharmaceutical stimulants. As a matter of fact, so many of those with ADHD are more overwhelmed faster by overwhelming external stimuli that it actually has an adverse effect, not a productive one.
