Syag: Lighten up. I don’t think Nochum in any way meant to be disrespectful. That is just how some communicate in the abstract. And obviously he is expressing HIS own opinion and experience which may not be nearly the same or as extensive as yours. I understood his point as a simple one which I also share. For younger folks, a Fabrengen is more interactive, casual, perhaps more music and potentially moe spiritually uplifting than a Tish where there is more of “lecture” style of communication and chinuch with less interaction and might even feel like an extension of the a seder at the yeshiva or kollel. Again, your experience may have been exactly the opposite.
