Imagine i ask you “what’s the best way to let the water out of a bathtub – a cup or a pot?” You might say pot, but the truth is that the beat way to do it is by unstopping it, an option that i neglected to mention. In your question, you are presenting only two options – either it’s against halacha or it just doesn’t make sense to me.
The other option is that it is against daas torah and does not make sense.
