The problem with getting a number of the number of jews there is “Who is a jew” , most of these censuses count someone with a jewish father as jewish and many people hid their jewish background under communism and their offspring might not know they were jewish, so that’s why these numbers are just guesses and there are people who are just finding out they have jewish ancestry (Could mean Halachic, maybe not halachic)
