If the Republicans regain the House in 2022, as I expect they will, don’t be surprised if some of these right wing crazies (MGT, Gosar, Cawthorn, Boebert etc.) gain additional traction and credibility. Once McCarthy realized they had tacit support from Trump, he quickly tempered his criticism and now just holds his nose and remains silent so as not to antagonize the boss.
