AD: Even a bird can believe that the Ebeshter controls what happens in the world but forego fouling its own nest. We have had multiple threads over the years about complaints from neighbors that frum residents let garbage pile up on the street, fail to mow their lawns or maintain their shrubs etc. one of the responses is that somehow, the time associated with such activities is bitul torah or that large frum families cannot be expected to adhere to a goyishe “suburban aesthetic”. The two (being frum and being attentive to the environment) are not mutually exclusive.
