The Sefer Hachinuch explains that we are not suppose to pray to Hashem, have mercy on me as You have mercy on a bird by Shiluach Hakein, as we are comparing Hashem’s mercy to ours where ours comes automatically from emotions whereas Hashem’s mercy comes from His understanding.
