Aaq, it depended greatly on the individual; there were many people that rav belsky would allow to go to college, but didn’t encourage it – remember that for many people, college is a given, and they’re not interested in remaining in learning even though they might have experienced some success in yeshiva.
My point was that if someone had little experience learning and absorbing hashkofa, for reasons that range from laziness, to emotional issues, to learning disabilities…i don’t believe rav belskys “not being gores” heter would apply to them, because they’re very susceptible.
