Or when Chazal blame the destruction of the Beis Hamikdash on several reasons, including on Sinas Chinom and on women not being tznius. Or when Gedolei Yisroel, both before the Tosfos Yom Tov as well as from his time though our times, explain to us specific reasons why various tragedies (including the holocaust being attributed to zionism) occurred.
