I can provide independent validation to this letter. I recently gave a tikun in my local minyan. I personally drink occasionally so I brought scotch, bourbon and orange juice with 7 oz and 1 oz cups. One guy comes over takes a 7 oz cup and fills it halfway with bourbon(no scotch). This is a weekday morning and this gentleman is going to work.
