Bein Hasedorim should spend one Bein Hasedorim learning a beautiful ‘shtikel’ in the Pelle Yoetz (not a 21st century gadol!). He was a strong proponent of takanos. Even in those days it was a problem. After learning it, let me see if you feel the same way.
