Those who advocate more people learning didn’t implement safeguards to prevent the creation of a society based on an expectations of entitlements, who scorn those who work for a living. Those who advocated living “tzum Gott und tzum leit” allowed for the creation of a generation of amei haaretz who scorn serious Torah scholarship. Extreme positions, never helped Klal Yisrael.
