I am getting the feeling that this “big event” concert ain’t gonna be no big event, but rather a big flop.
The ads started saying that 50% of the concert was already sold out (like 3 weeks ago)….
I was listening to the Nachum Segal show the other night, and they were live in some store in Borough Park. Shea Mendlowitz and Lipa were making it sound like people better run as fast as they can to grab the last 2 tickets available in the store….
Then Lipa was on Zev Brenner saying how its almost sold out and people better run like sin to the store to get their tickets because its nearly sold out….
Now I saw on a website that they are giving out 400 free tickets to boys who learn mishnayos and get tested by their rebbi…..
Which boy can learn mishnayos in 2 days is beyond me….which rebbi will sign this paper to send their student to this concert is beyond me….
But putting that all aside for a moment.
It seems veeeeery strange that a show that is “almost sold out” is suddenly giving out four hundred, yes, four hundred free tickets to a concert a week before the show.
I would understand if they gave 50 tickets out for free, but four hundred!?
I hope I am wrong here, but I smell a blow-out and not a sell-out.
It’s a week to purim, and there is no way I would even think of going to a concert where tickets cost $50 (the cheapest seats) now. Purum and Pesach will cost me thousands of dollars, and time is tight (not to mention the money). If I would go it would cost me $400 in tickets for the family.
Hope I am wrong, but this don’t smell too rosy.
