More hashkaficly, suicide (at least outside of the context of mental illness) aside from being wrong in its own right, is also by definition an act of poor middos, as it involves kefiyas hatov to hashem and to one’s community for all of the reasons they give for a person to stay in this world. The same does not follow with murder.
