There is actually an opinion that Kidushin is a mitzvah for a female as a flip side to “lo siyeh kedeishah” the same way Schitah is a mitzvah to prevent the eating of a neveilah and Hafrashas Terumah is a mitzvah to prevent the Issur of eating Tevel.
