Hi.
Buy a computer that meets your requirements, or maybe slightly exceeds them.
Why? because:
-Buying a computer that greatly exceeds your needs is a waste of money.
-Buying a computer that isn’t capable of meeting your needs will result in frustration.
Before you start shopping, here’s what you should know:
1) What will you be using your computer for? email? word processing? web surfing? game playing? photo and video editing? watching DVDs and listening to CDs? schoolwork? accounting applications?
2) How will you be primarily using your computer? in one place? throughout the house, but mainly in the house? back-and-forth to school or work frequently?
3) What degree of hand-holding and technical assistance is needed? do you have a teenage sibling who is a computer whiz to help you? will you frequently be needing assistance for basic tasks?
4) Do you need a full keyboard? large keys? what about screen size?
“I want to buy a computer” is similar to “I want to buy a car” – one size doesn’t fit all.
Once you’ve answered the above questions people will be able to give you more useful advice and info.
