If the guy would be unemployed otherwise, it does buy him time on the job (assuming he is technically competant for it), until he’s caught. And that’s IF he’s ever caught. But either way, he had a job for X number of years (or months) that he otherwise would not of. And in a big city like NY, unless your a top exec or something like that, no one outside the company will be the wiser.
