You are right I know guys who dated and ended up marrying girls who went to more “modern” seminaries but she was a great girl and not the typical of that seminary.

But I guess knowing which seminary she went to can tell me that she cares about Hashkafa and knows her stuff. I want her to be familiar with Rav Desslers ideas or something along those lines or have at least read Rav Tatz or Rav Kaplans books.

To me its important that the person I marry understands what being Jewish is all about. Its not enough to just know what to do and go through the motions.
