A great Bachur was redt to my oldest. We met him and he made a very good impression, and he came up fro a sit in with my daughter.
As he came up the stairs i noticed that he had a hunchback. When he left we asked my daughter for her impression, which was very favorable. But she saw what I and her mother saw. We called the Shadchan who was shocked. “I know him very well. “I know him very well & have no idea what you are talking about.” So he thought some lame excuse for our rejection. So happened I bumped into the young man the next day and his back was as straight as a broomstick. We could not turn the clock back, A few days later Shadchan calls back “I have another great Bachur, I’ll be open with you I don’t want any surprises. Try to see him under cover he has a slight blemish on his face”. So Motzei Shabbos I went to the bachur’s Rebbe’s Tish, managed to track him down and examined him from all angles & saw nothing. We met him my daughter met him an unheard of 4 times and Mazel Tov. A year after their Chasuna he tells his wife that he was born with a cleft lip which required surgery.
