I don’t understand why we are continuing without considering the halachic issues. We are looking like the situation described at the end of Sefer Shoftim, with everying doing as they wanted as there was no King. Our King is HaShem and His Law is the Torah. And it contains explicit instructions on what we can do to protect our lives and property — none of which have been discussed in over a hundred comments.
