just remembered another story.
as a young boy the steipler gave up his bed to someone and stayed in shul the entire night!
closer to dawn he went to slp on a bench and as the mispallelim came in not noticing him sleeping there they dumped his coats onto him!
the steipler later said it was his “warmest night ever”!
