It’s interesting that in the last few years a new eruv phenomena has come about. Many frum Yiden have come to accept the Eruv in Flatbush but are afraid of being ostracized by chaveirim and family. So they have become “pocket carriers”. They will not carry openly so as not to offend anyone and also to keep the peace, but will carry privately and quietly.
