Gavra…i grew up when tznius was not such an issue as it is today. Our family was very makmid on tznius in so much that when we moved to Boro Park, Mora Dina Rosengarten commented on my way of dress. Yes, i must add that i wore braids till teenage years. We had teachers who were role models and looking at them was enough. Some of the teachers we had were Rebbeim such as Rabbi Godlewsky Z”L, who if noted a girl whose sleeves were rolled up he would comment that perhaps it was warm in the room and the windows need to be opened.Other Rebbeim we had was Rav Avigdor Miller Z”L and Rabbi Gabioff Z”L. I think i don’t need to continue.
Unfortunately today the word of a teacher is not as strong as the salespeople who sometimes convince to purchase clothing that is not fitting.
