There is another issue here: Supermarkets often don’t pay the manufacturers until a product is sold and by scanning the Lipton 5 times Unilever is getting paid for 4 cases that Pepsico should be paid for. (I may have the componies wrong but I know that Lipton is distributed by a soda company that doesn’t own them.)
