You’ve got to admit, some muscle cars serve no purpose at all (except to show off- and all you’re showing off is how much money you sank on your car). Anything you can do with your Lambo/Maser/Ferrari/Porsche on public roads, I can do with a Vette or even a Camaro. Ok, you’d beat me out of a light by a fraction of a millisecond, but beyond that you never get to USE any of the vast available power*.
If you’ve got private roads and a private track, fine, that’s different. Go drive as fast as you can in circles.
*Note: I recall a famous political figure was asked about his Ferrari by reporters (assuming that they were cornering him into admitting to breaking traffic laws with it). His clever reply was to the effect of “the law may be you can’t drive faster than 65mph, but it doesn’t say how quickly you can get up to that speed out of a tollbooth”. Nevertheless, the difference between a Ferrari and a Vette in this regard is modest. The price difference is not.
