I can’t understand why people would care what some model or actress has to say about a particular issue of substance unless that person actually has some experience in the matter. We have the spectacle today of Jenny McCarthy being treated as an expert on autism and her views even accepted by more than a few frum folks; her “expertise” was in taking her clothes off in front of a camera! In a previous generation, George Murphy was Director of Entertainment at Eisenhower’s inaugurations and managed to turn that into a US Senate term, and Ronald Reagan went from being Celebrity Spokesman for General Electric to President of the US.
