many Poskim say if your wife, who may not have a Mitzvah to sleep in the Sukkah, wishes not to, then the husbsnd has a heter to not sleep in the Sukkah, and it may even be preferable to NOT sleep in the Sukkah, as that is not his normal way of life to sleep apart.
similar to those who eat in the Sukkah (not the first night) when it is raining, who are called fools.
