Health, the reason Rambam says “rauy” is because we are talking about people who were brought up in non-Torah views and are entrenched in them. Therefore, it is not possible to obligate us to sit with people, who may strongly reject our opinion, laugh in our faces etc., and talk to them till we are blue in the face about our way. It is obvious though that if we could influence them, that’s what we should do.
