That whole tasting wine by kiddush thingy reminds me of a story that happened to a friend.
Her daughter was applying to move into a college dorm. One of the sections on the application asked (1) do you drink, and (2) how often. Thinking about those little Friday night sips of wine from the Kiddush, she replied yes to the first question, and to the second, she replied “religiously.”
It seemed quite strange when her application was denied for behavioral issues. Upon inquiry it was happily resolved. (Happily only if you approve of girls living on college dorms, or course.)
At the time, the mother sent the story in to “campus Comedy” in reders Digest, and got 300.00 for it when it was published!
