IMO you dont one day just decide to “be” a shadchan. you can set people up that you think would make a good match and get them to go out. eventually once you make a few shidduchim, your name will get out that you have experiance with people and you will have a title as “the shadchan.” as for not wasting your time, making shidduchim is extremely time consuming and more often then not yields disappointing results. (im speaking from experiance…) remember, chazal say that making a shidduch is as hard as the splitting of the sea. but for the one time that you succeed, its 100% worth it!! there is nothing like the nachas of watching two people that you thought of start building their home.
