Can I just say, here I am?
I would like to do this because what if I were able to make just one SHidduch?
My idea is that since I live in such and such an area, I know some singles. If I start telling people that I am a Shadchan, I will get some people will tell me about singles.
Then I would be in contact with a Shadchan from another part of the same metro area.
Is this being too naive that is, I don’t want to waste my time.
Is there any merit to trying or should it be done some other way?

(im speaking from experiance…) remember, chazal say that making a shidduch is as hard as the splitting of the sea. but for the one time that you succeed, its 100% worth it!! there is nothing like the nachas of watching two people that you thought of start building their home. HATZLACHA!

Make sure you’ve asked them if they want you to do that. No shidduch meeting in your area? Organize one via your shul, community, whatever.
It’s a lot of word of mouth and keeping your ears open. No, I’m not A Shaddchun, but I am a woman who almost always is listening for possible matches for those I know.
